Privacy Policy

Avenue3 is built on a simple belief: you deserve real friends, and real friends deserve real privacy. We collect only what we need to make the app work, we never sell your data, and we never use it to show you ads. This policy explains exactly what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

1. Who We Are

Avenue3 is a friend-finding mobile application (iOS and Android) operated by George Anthony Pazdral II ("we," "us," or "our"), based in Austin, Texas. You can reach us at hello@avenue3.app.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information when you use Avenue3:

Information you provide directly:

Email address (for account creation and authentication)
Display name
Profile photos (exactly 3 required)
Friendship mode (Individual, Couple, or Couple with Kids)
Preferred connection modes (who you want to meet)
Activities (exactly 3 interests you select or create)
Availability (exactly 3 day/time slot combinations)
Search radius preference
Messages you send to other users
Hangout plans you propose or respond to

Information collected automatically:

Location (used only for radius-based matching — your exact location is never shown to other users, and we do not track your movements)
Device information (OS version, device type) for crash reporting and compatibility
App usage data (which features you use, error logs)

Information from third parties:

If you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive your name and email address from those providers, subject to your sharing preferences with them

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

Create and maintain your Avenue3 account
Match you with other users based on shared activities and availability
Display your profile to potential matches within your chosen radius
Enable in-app messaging between mutual matches
Facilitate hangout plan proposals and confirmations
Send you notifications about matches, messages, and plans (with your permission)
Improve and debug the app
Respond to your support requests
Comply with legal obligations

We do not use your information to serve advertisements. Avenue3 is and will remain ad-free.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share your information only in the following limited circumstances:

With other Avenue3 users: Your profile (name, photos, activities, availability, friendship mode) is visible to other users within your search radius who share at least one activity and time slot with you.
With service providers: We use Firebase (Google) for authentication, database storage, file storage, and hosting. These providers process data on our behalf and are contractually prohibited from using it for their own purposes.
For legal reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
Business transfers: If Avenue3 is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you before this occurs.

We never sell your personal information to third parties.

5. Location Information

Avenue3 uses your device's location to find other users within your selected search radius (5–25 miles). We store your location (latitude and longitude) in our database to power matching. Your exact location is never shown to other users — it is only used internally to calculate distance. We do not continuously track your location — it is updated only when you open the app. You can disable location access in your device settings at any time, though this will prevent radius-based matching from working.

6. Photos

Profile photos you upload are stored securely in Firebase Storage and are visible to other Avenue3 users within your area. Photos are not analyzed, shared with third parties, or used for any purpose other than displaying your profile.

7. Messages and Plans

Messages sent between users and hangout plan details are stored in our database to enable the messaging and planning features. Only the participants in a conversation can access their messages. We do not read your messages except where required by law or to investigate reported safety violations.

8. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes. Some information (such as messages) may remain in the accounts of other users who received them.

9. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your information:

Access: You can view your profile information within the app at any time.
Correction: You can update your profile information in the Settings tab.
Deletion: You can delete your account by contacting us at hello@avenue3.app. We will delete your account and associated data within 30 days.
Notifications: You can manage push notification preferences in your device settings.
Location: You can disable location access in your device settings.

10. Children's Privacy

Avenue3 is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we become aware that a minor has created an account, we will delete it promptly. If you believe a minor has registered, please contact us at hello@avenue3.app.

11. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), Firebase security rules that restrict data access to authorized users only, and secure authentication via Firebase Auth. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security of your information.

12. Third-Party Services

Avenue3 uses the following third-party services:

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page and notify you via email or in-app notification if the changes are material. Your continued use of Avenue3 after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
